Eligibility Criteria
- Executive Branch (GS(X)/ Hydro Cadre): BE/ B.Tech in any discipline with minimum 60% marks.
- Pilot: BE/ B.Tech in any discipline with minimum 60% marks.
(Candidate must have 60% aggregate marks in class X and XII and minimum
60% marks in English in class X or class XII).
- Naval Air Operations Officer (Observers): BE/ B.Tech in any
discipline with minimum 60% marks. (Candidate must have 60% aggregate
marks in class X and XII and minimum 60% marks in English in class X or
class XII).
- Air Traffic Controller (ATC): BE/ B.Tech in any discipline with
minimum 60% marks. (Candidate must have 60% aggregate marks in class X
and XII and minimum 60% marks in English in class X or class XII).
- Logistics: BE/ B.Tech in any discipline with First Class or MBA
with First Class, or B.Sc/ B.Com/ B.Sc.(H) with First class along with
PG Diploma in Finance / Logistics / Supply Chain Management / Material
Management or MCA/ M.Sc.(H) with First Class.

- Submarine Tech Electrical: BE/ B.Tech with minimum 60% marks in the

Salary/Stipend
- The initial gross salary of Sub Lieutenant starts from Rs
1,25,000/- (approximately) per month alongwith other allowances as
applicable.
- Pilot/ NAOO allowance of Rs 31,250/- will be admissible to candidates post successful completion of training.
- Submarine allowance of Rs 31,250/- will be admissible to candidates post successful completion of training.
- Submarine allowance will be admissible to candidates post
successful completion of submarine training in accordance with extant
rules.

Important Dates
Selection Process
- Shortlisting of application will be based on normalised marks
obtained by the candidates in the qualifying degree. Marks obtained by
the candidates in the qualifying degree will be normalised using
formulae mentioned in Join Indian Navy website (URL: -
https://www.joinindiannavy.gov.in/files/normalisation.pdf)
- BE/ B.Tech. For candidates who have completed or are in final year
of BE/ B.Tech, marks obtained upto fifth semester will be considered for
SSB shortlisting.
- Post-Graduate Degree Programme. For candidates who have completed
MSc, MCA, MBA, M.Tech, marks obtained in all semesters will be
considered. For candidates who are in final year, shortlisting will be
based on pre-final year performance.
- Candidates selected in the final merit list will be required to
submit the proof of completing the qualifying degree with minimum 60%
marks by sending an email at the address officer@navy.gov.in. Candidates failing to meet the criteria will not be permitted to join the Academy.
- Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their selection for
SSB interview through e-mail or SMS (provided by candidates in their
application form). Candidates are advised not to change their e-mail/
mobile number till selection process is over and check their inbox and
spam folder periodically.
- Change of SSB Centre for interview is not permissible under any circumstances.
- Any correspondence regarding change of SSB dates be addressed to
the call up officer of the concerned SSB on receipt of call up letter.
Candidates are to download the call up letter on receiving intimation
from Naval Headquarters through SMS/ email (provided by candidates in
their application).
- No compensation is admissible in case of any injury sustained as a result of tests during SSB interviews.
- AC 3 tier rail fare is admissible for the SSB interview, if
appearing for the first time for particular type of commission.
Candidates are required to bring photocopy of the first page of pass
book or cheque leaf where the name, A/C No. & IFSC details are
mentioned, while appearing for SSB.
- Details of SSB procedure are available on Indian Navy website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in
- Merit list will be prepared based on SSB marks for all entries as
per availability of vacancies and medical clearance for respective
entry. Candidates declared fit in medical examination would be appointed
as per availability of vacancies in the entry.
General Information/Instructions
- Vacancies mentioned in para 2 are tentative and may be changed depending on availability of training slots.
- Only one application can be filled by a candidate. In case of multiple applications, candidature will be cancelled.
- Male Candidates shortlisted for GS(X) are also eligible to
volunteer for submarine arm subject to medical fitness, vacancies and
service requirements. Candidates exercising option for this branch will
have to additionally indicate option for submarine specialisation while
filling the online application form.
- Eventual selection/ nomination to undergo submarine specialisation
will be subject to clearing submarine medicals (after joining INA) and
service requirements.
- Submarine allowance will be admissible to candidates post
successful completion of submarine training in accordance with extant
rules.
- Candidates selected under GS(X) may be nominated to undergo
specialisation in RPA (after completion of training at INA), subject to
medical fitness and service requirements.
- Candidates having Government of India, Ministry of Shipping &
Transport Certificate of Competency (Foreign going) either as a Second
Mate, Mate or Master and born between 02 Jan 1997 to 01 Jul 2007 (both
dates inclusive) can apply for Executive Branch entry (General Service)
as per stipulations stated at Para 2(1).
- Candidates having Government of India, Ministry of Shipping &
Transport Certificate of Competency as 1st class Engineer and born
between 02 Jan 1997 to 01 Jul 2007 (both dates inclusive) can apply for
Technical Branch entry (SSC Engineering) as per stipulations stated at
Para 2(7) and 2(8).
- Candidates having valid CPL issued by DGCA (India) and born between
02 Jan 2002 to 01 Jan 2008 (both dates inclusive) can apply for Pilot
entry as per eligibility criteria stated at Para 2(2).
- NCC 'C' certificate holders will be given relaxation of 5% in cut
off marks towards shortlisting for SSB subject to meeting following
criteria: Having NCC 'C' certificate of Naval/Army/Air Wing with minimum
'B' Grade. Not served less than two academic years in the Senior
Division, Naval/Army/Air Wing of the NCC. 'C' certificate should not be
dated prior to 01 Jan 2024.
- The final selection will be subject to verification of the
certificate by DG(NCC) concerned NCC unit for its validity. Candidature
of individual will be cancelled at any stage of selection/ training/
post-commissioning, in case of false declaration, misinformation or
concealing of information.
- The candidate will be required to fulfil the educational
qualification stipulated above before joining INA, Ezhimala by Jan 2027.
- The candidate failing to meet stipulated educational criteria will not be permitted to join INA, Ezhimala.
- All SSB recommended candidates would be required to inform their
final result of respective degree to Indian Navy at the email ID officer@navy.gov.in prior 20 Dec 2026.
- Specified number of candidates based on service requirement, who
have chosen SSC (Pilot) entry will be considered for SSB/ CPSS/ Aviation
Medical Examination and are advised to check physical/ medical
standards (Height, leg length etc) for this entry prior selecting this
option. Remaining candidates will be considered for other preferences
opted by them.
- Candidates must indicate their preference for other branches/
cadres also, if they wish to be considered for those branches/ cadres.
- Candidates will not be considered for branches/ cadres that they have not selected.
- Candidates are advised to ascertain their eligibility for branches/
cadres, with respect to applicable medical standards, prior to
indicating their preference.
- No equivalent stream of BE/ B.Tech qualifications other than those
mentioned in para 2(5), 2(6), 2(7), 2(8), 2(9) and 2(10) above, will be
considered valid for selection process at any stage.
- Candidates will be denied to appear SSB if any backlog in any
subject is pending at the time of document verification at SSB centers.
- Medical standards/ Relaxation in Height and Weight/ Tattoo. Please
visit website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in for information. SSB recommended
candidates are required to undergo medical examination as applicable to
their entry. Change of medical hospital/ centre is not permissible
under any circumstances.
- Selected candidates will be granted Short Service Commission
initially for 12 years extendable by maximum 02 years, subject to
service requirement, performance, medical eligibility and willingness of
candidates
- Candidates will be inducted in the rank of Sub Lieutenant subject
to clearing of induction medical examination at INA, Ezhimala post
reporting.
- Only unmarried candidates are eligible for training. Any candidate
who is found to be married or marries while under training will be
discharged from service and shall be liable to refund full pay and
allowances drawn by him/ her and other expenditure incurred on the
candidate by the Government.
- If the officer voluntarily withdraws from initial training or
resigns during the probationary period, he/ she shall be required to
refund the cost of training in whole or in part, as may be determined by
Govt and all money received by him/ her as pay and allowances from the
Govt together with the interest on the said money calculated at the rate
in force for Govt loans.
- Probation period for all branches/cadres is two years. The
probation period will commence from the date of grant of the rank of Sub
Lieutenant and will terminate after two years or on completion of
initial training (whichever is later). During probation the officers are
liable to be discharged in case of unsatisfactory performance at any
stage.
- All officers/ cadets would be compulsorily members of the Naval
Group Insurance Scheme (NGIS) as received and approved for insurance
cover on contribution basis. The cover would be applicable whilst in
service and post retirement as per extant regulations.
- Mere inclusion of candidates in the Select List/Merit list does not confer upon them a vested right to appointment.
- Candidates may also note that mere empanelment is under no
circumstances be treated as final selection and is not an enforceable
claim to the post applied for.
- All vacancies are to be filled as per service requirement and as
per statutory guidelines issued in this regard from time to time.

- Your candidature will be cancelled if any declaration is found wrong at any stage of selection.
- Use/ possession of narcotics is banned. Candidate may be tested for
presence of drugs in the body during SSB selection/ medical/ training
and subsequently during service. If candidate is found to be using/
in-possession of narcotics during any time of selection/ medical/
training/ service, candidate would be debarred from joining the Indian
Navy or be removed from service if already joined.
- Your application is subject to subsequent scrutiny and the
application can be rejected, if found INELIGIBLE/ INVALID at any point
of time.
How to Apply
- Candidates are to register and fill application on Indian Navy
website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in. To save time during the application
submission window, candidates can fill in their details and upload
documents in advance.
- Whilst filling up the e-application, it is advisable to keep the
relevant documents readily available to enable the following: Correct
filling up of personal particulars. Details are to be filled up as given
in the Matriculation Certificate. Fields such as e-mail address, mobile
number are mandatory fields and need to be filled.
- All relevant documents (preferably in original), marks sheets upto
5th & 7th semester for regular and integrated BE/ B.Tech courses
respectively and all semesters for other degree examination, date of
birth proof (as per 10th & 12th certificate), CGPA conversion
formula for BE/ B.Tech, Merchant Navy certificate issued by Government
of India, Ministry of Shipping and Transport, NCC 'C' certificate issued
by National Cadet Corps and a recent passport size colour photograph
should be scanned in original JPG/TIFF format, for attaching the same
while filling up the application.
- If any scanned document is not legible/readable for any reason, the
application will be rejected. Candidates are to take print out of
application and carry it while appearing for SSB interview.
- The application once submitted will be final and no request for amendments/change will be entertained.
