Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNVST) Class 6 Admission 2025-26: The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has released the notification for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST)- 2025. The JNVST exam will be conducted for admission to Class-VI in the JNVs through the Selection Test for the Session 2025-26. The JNV Admission 2025-26 Application Form can be submitted online from 16 July to 16 September 2024. The NVS Admission Form for session 2025-26 can be submitted from navodaya.gov.in.

JNVST 2025 Important Dates
The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) released the JNVST 2025 (NVS Class-6 Admission) Notification on 16 July 2024 and invited the online application form from 16 July to 16 September 2024. The JNVST 2025 Admission Test will be held on 18 January 2025. The JNVST 2025 exam for the hilly areas will be held on 12 April 2025.
JNVST 2025 Application Fees
No Application Fee is required to pay to apply for the Navodaya Admission 2024 (JNVST-2025). The online application process for the JNV Admission 2024 is free for all students.
JNV Admission 2024 Age Limit
A candidate seeking JNV Class-6 admission (JNVST-2025) must not have been born before 01-05-2013 and after 31-07-2015 (Both dates are inclusive). The provisionally selected candidate has to produce a copy of the birth certificate issued by the Government authority concerned at the time of admission. This will apply to candidates of all categories, including those who belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Other Backward Class (OBC).
Eligibility for Navodaya Vidyalaya Admission 2024
Admission of candidates to class VI in a JNV is district-specific. A candidate studying class V in a district can apply for admission to JNV in the same district only. Only the bonafide resident candidates from the district concerned where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya has been located and studying class V in the same district are eligible to apply for admission to JNVs through JNVST.
Candidate has to reside in the district where he/she is seeking admission in the JNV located in the same District.
Candidate has to study class V in any of the Govt. or Govt. recognized schools located in the same District during 2024-25.
Candidates who have passed class V before the session 2024-25 or repeater candidates are not eligible to apply for NVS Class-6 Admission 2024.
At least 75% of the seats in a district will be filled by candidates provisionally selected from rural areas of the district. The remaining seats are open and will be filled on merit from both Urban and Rural Area candidates of the district as per selection criteria. A candidate seeking admission under the rural quota must have studied in Classes-III, IV, and V completing full academic sessions from the Government/ Government Aided/Government recognized schools located in rural areas.
JNVST Class-6 Admission: Documents Required After Selection
- Proof of date of birth -The copy of the Birth Certificate issued by the competent Government Authority concerned.
- Proofs for eligibility as per the conditions of NVS.
- For candidates seeking admission under the rural quota, the parents will also have to submit a certificate from the competent authority to the effect that the child had studied class III, IV, and V in an Institution/ School located in a rural area.
- Residence Certificate: The valid residential proof (as notified Govt. of India) of the parent of the same District where the JNV is located & candidate has studied class V shall be furnished.
- Copy of the Aadhaar Card of the candidate: The provisionally selected candidate has to submit a copy of the Aadhaar Card to get admission under the Navodaya Vidyalaya Scheme.
- Certificate by the Head Master of the school regarding study details of classes III, IV & V.
- Medical fitness certificate.
- Undertaking for Migration.
- Disability certificate (if applicable).
- Category/ community certificate (SC/ST) if applicable.
- Category/ community certificate OBC, as per central list if applicable.
JNVST 2025 Exam Pattern
The OMR-based written exam will be conducted for admission to the Navodaya Vidyalaya through the JNVST 2025 exam which will be conducted on 18 January 2025. The JNVST 2025 Exam Pattern is given below.
